Meditation
Meditation is a wonderful practice to quiet the mind, the monkey mind, that jumps from one thing to another. In the quietness of meditation, you start to discover a reality beyond your self, your ego, beyond your name, rank, and serial number. This practice itself elevates your story.
There are many versions of meditation practice. Focusing on your breath is a good basic form.
Get into a comfortable seated position, and spend a few minutes relaxing - consciously relaxing your shoulders, your jaw, your eyes.
Then start to focus on your breathing, on the air coming your nose, then released through your mouth. If it helps at first to count the breaths, do that, but later even that can fade away.
Start with 5 minutes, then build up to 10, then 15, then 20.
Any time you spend in meditation is beneficial, to reconnect you to the wordless reality, and leave you more refreshed and relaxed.
